Our innovations at R+T: Intelligent drives from SELVE
The right drive for every application - SELVE is once again living up to this claim and is presenting very interesting product innovations at the leading trade fair in Stuttgart.
Virtually silent operation with the SI Pro-com roller shutter drive
This name of this brand-new generation of drive says it all! SELVE Intelligence (SI) is based on a new drive concept – a permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) – and brings together two key benefits in the one solution. Besides being significantly quieter than standard drives, the SI can also be operated at different speeds. The SI Pro-com comes with two operating speeds as standard: slow (6 revs) and fast (17 revs).
SI Solar-com is flexible and reliable
Roller shutter drives are usually operated using mains power. In other words, electrically operated roller shutters always need to have a mains connection in the roller shutter box. If roller shutters are being retrofitted to a building in a place without mains electricity, installation is usually time-consuming and complicated. In certain places, such as garden sheds or allotments, supplying mains electricity is often impossible. The SE Solar-com means that long, complicated installation is a thing of the past.
Motorised zip screens on secondary escape and emergency routes
One of our innovations concerning the emergency operation of zip screens is the connection of the SEZ-NHK drive to a mechanical one-way clutch on the hand crank. If there is a power cut, the SEZ-NHK enables a zip screen to be OPENED in an emergency, while the one-way clutch prevents it from being SHUT. In other words, there is now a solution for zip screens installed on secondary escape routes, similar to the existing solutions that allow roller shutters to be opened in an emergency. By the way, the freewheel has been nominated for the R+T 2024 Innovation Award and can be used for all drives with an emergency hand crank and can also be easily retrofitted, i.e. also for the SEE-NHK roller shutter drive.
SE Breeze-com: Awning drive with integrated wind detection
Hinged-arm awnings can only be used up to a certain wind speed. Until now, awnings have been protected from strong winds by wind warning devices with rotating blades, which permanently measure the wind speed. The problem with this, however, is always trying to find the best location for the device. These weather warning devices are also permanently exposed to the elements, get dirty and are subject to wear and tear. They may even stop working after a number of years. Battery-operated vibration sensors that are built into the front bar of a hinged-arm awning cause just as many problems. When the batteries run out, the awning can no longer be extended and the wind protection system cannot operate. Our product development team wanted to overcome these challenges and designed a future-oriented and practical solution in the form of a motion sensor which is integrated into the drive and therefore achieved a nomination for the R+T 2024 Innovation Award.
