SELVE has the largest range of strap coilers on the market.

Our portfolio has grown over the decades to offer precisely the right solution for virtually every application. Even though many roller shutters today are motor powered and automated, strap coilers are still required for opening and closing them by hand. Over four million strap coilers leave the highly automated production line at our plant in Bad Arolsen every year. These production methods ensure precisely reproducible quality at an extremely high level. We also produce all stamped and plastic parts for our range of strap coilers ourselves.

SELVE is the world market leader in strap coilers, and has been recognised as such in the "World market leaders from Southwestfalia" campaign conducted by the Southwestfalia Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SIHK).

Our huge range of strap and cord coilers impressively demonstrates the versatility of our roller shutters:

Flush-in strap coilers are fitted in wall boxes. Most of the coiler is concealed in the wall, with only the cover panel and strap outlet visible from the outside.
Surface-mounted strap coilers are screwed onto the wall or window frame. These narrow models can be swivelled into various positions, and can be opened to fit the strap.
Semi-flush-in strap coilers represent a halfway point between the two previous variants. They are partially installed in the window frame, with the remaining part protruding out.
When mounting the strap coilers, it is important to choose the right product for the hole spacing. SELVE offers various versions for all standard hole spacings.
Another important factor is the „strap width“. Mini-coilers have a strap width of 15 mm, while new construction coilers measure 23 mm.
Alongside our tried-and-tested strap coilers, we also offer models with cords. Cord coilers are used in a virtually identical way to strap coilers, but use a cord instead of a strap.
Whether they use straps or cords, some products come with the mechanism pre-coiled, while others require the strap or cord to be purchased separately and coiled on site.
Large and heavy roller shutters require special coilers with an extra-long strap, used in conjunction with strap tension gears. These feature a larger coiling area and spring case, as well as a greater spring force.
The strap coilers are available in a wide range of shapes, designs and colours. Users can also choose from a variety of different coloured straps, cover panels and strap guides.

The strap coiler is used to manually open and close roller shutters. Pulling on the strap moves the shutter upwards. Inside the roller shutter box, the strap is coiled around the pulley and the shutter is wound around the octagonal shaft. To close the roller shutter, the strap is pulled out from the strap coiler. The shutter unwinds from the octagonal shaft under its own weight and slides down the guide rails in front of the window until it is closed.

The strap guide guides the strap through the wall in the roller shutter box. SELVE also offers a wide range of strap guides. Most of the strap guides used today reduce the air permeability to a minimum and are well insulated just like the roller shutter box itself. This prevents unwanted heat loss.

The belt then runs out from the roller shutter box and down along the wall or window frame. The strap coiler is mounted vertically beneath the strap guide. Regardless of which coiler variant is installed, all versions function identically. The belt is guided inside the strap coiler via the clamper. As the name suggests, this component clamps the strap when not in use and therefore retains the roller shutter securely in any position. On the outside, the strap is secured to a spring case. This houses a spring made from premium spring steel that is designed for the respective strap length. This spring winds the strap inside the coiler. For quality reasons, SELVE only produces its spring cases from metal. This ensures that this key element of every strap coiler functions reliably for many years.

Was ist der Unterschied zwischen einer Gurtscheibe und einer Begrenzungsscheibe?

Die Gurtscheibe wickelt den Gurt auf und führt ihn – sie überträgt die Zugkraft auf die Welle. Die Begrenzungsscheibe wickelt nichts auf: Sie wird auf der Gegenseite montiert, wo der Panzer in den Einlauftrichter läuft, und verhindert dort, dass sich die Rollladenstäbe seitlich verschieben.

Welche Gurtscheibe passt zu 14-mm- bzw. 23-mm-Gurt?

Für schmale Mini-Gurte (14/15 mm) sind die SW-40-Mini-Gurtscheiben ausgelegt; für breite 23-mm-Neubaugurte gibt es Gurtscheiben für SW 40, SW 50 und SW 60. Entscheidend ist die Kombination aus Gurtbreite und Schlüsselweite Ihrer Welle – am besten vorab von Fläche zu Fläche messen..

Welchen Durchmesser muss meine Gurtscheibe haben?

Der Durchmesser richtet sich nach Rollladenhöhe und dem Platz im Kasten: Je höher der Behang, desto größer der Wickeldurchmesser – und desto größer die benötigte Gurtscheibe. SELVE bietet Ø 85 mm bis Ø 215 mm. Bei hohen Rollläden verhindert die große Scheibe, dass der Gurt bei komplett heruntergelassenem Behang abrutscht.
